Boyd is currently teaching at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she teaches courses like Gender Studies 100, Transgender Lives, and Gender Variance. She has taught for a few terms at Lawrence previous to the 2009/10 academic year, and also taught Gender and Society at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.
Her books are regularly taught in Gender Studies courses as well; My Husband Betty and/or She’s Not the Man I Married have been taught at colleges across the country, including:
